Welcome

I am enormously proud to be the Headteacher of Weald of Kent Grammar School. As an ex-Weald girl myself, I have benefitted first hand from the opportunities that a first rate Weald education offers. I understand it is not just that our students are supported to achieve excellent academic results, it is the resilience, strength of character and clear understanding of who they are and what they believe in that marks our students apart. I am committed to protecting and developing this proud tradition for our current and future students.

I, and everyone here at Weald, hold the strong belief that we are all capable of achieving amazing things if we are supported to find the road to get there. This is where the relationship between home, school and the wider community come in.

We are not a school that is complacent. Ofsted judged us to be outstanding in April 2007 and in May 2014, as a further indicator of our sustained performance, the Department of Education awarded us Teaching School status. In the same year we also achieved Thinking School status.

We demand that the learning experience for our students moves with the times whilst maintaining the traditions of good manners, discipline and respect for others. Our supportive, yet rigorous Governing Body regularly review the progress that the school is making, and it was as a result of their shared vision and forward-thinking approach that we were able to open the Sevenoaks Annexe in 2017, becoming the first grammar school in the country to do so.

I would like to invite you to come and see us, talk to our amazing students and staff and really understand why I believe that Weald is such a unique and amazing school.
