The role

Reporting to the NDA’s Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), the Information Security Manager provides risk management and assurance for the network and systems in the NDA and its supply chain. This role will focus on all aspects of Information Risk Management and Information Assurance, from both an operational and technical perspective.

Key Accountabilities

• Provide leadership and guidance concerning technology solutions and infrastructure to enable first-in-class service delivery whilst defining and designing the GSOC services. In line with goals and stakeholders’ requirements across the NDA and its Operating companies.
• Recommend / support implementation of the adoption of standard framework for GSOC management and service delivery.
• Manage personnel engaged in providing Cyber Security Engineering capability within GSOC.
• Define key performance indicators at different levels (operational, technical, executive, etc.) within Group Cyber Security Operations.
• Provides advice and guidance across the NDA and its Operating Companies within Security Architecture for Cyber Security Operations Centres.
• Define new procedures and supporting documentation across multiple environments / capabilities within Group Cyber Security Architecture.
• Define processes and operating procedures for the GSOC management system.
• Leads and manages continuous improvement within Cyber Security Architectural Operational activities across the NDA and its Operating companies.
• Prepare and review procedures and processes supporting GSOC delivery (major change management).
• Leading and driving change across the Group Cyber Security Operations capability within the NDA and Operating Companies.
• Create / design GSOC capability inclusive of drafting/reviewing Detailed Design, High Level Design and Low-Level Designs documentation.
• Security architecture oversight for all GSOC Operational Technologies inclusive of on premise and Cloud technologies throughout NDA and the Operating Companies.

Reporting to the NDA’s Group Cyber Security Operations Centre Manager, the GSOC Team Lead provides Cyber Security Incident Response capabilities from both a reactive and proactive perspective.

Key Accountabilities

• Manage personnel engaged in providing Cyber Security Operational incident handling services and related capabilities within the GSOC.
• Periodically monitor effectiveness and efficiency of the services delivered, suggesting alternative solutions to the GSOC Manager and actively contribute to continuous improvement
• Review and approve communications and deliverables for services in scope of the GSOC.
• Act as an escalation point at level 2 and 3 for Cyber Security Operational Incidents.
• Provide technical expertise within Cyber Security Operations to GSOC staff and NDA Operating companies.
• Lead / manage Cyber Security Operational incidents when required inclusive of Digital Forensic activities.
• Provides advice and guidance across the NDA and its Operating Companies for Cyber Security Operational Incident Response and Digital Forensics.
• Lead, develop and manage continuous process improvement within Cyber Security Operations within the NDA and its Operating companies.
• Ensure compliance with the SLA and service expectations within the GSOC.
• Define procedures and supporting documentation within the GSOC.

• Deliver against the Corporate information security obligations, offering technical support to senior managers and staff

• Support the NDA CISO and NDA Group CISO to ensure oversight of information security activities undertaken by NDA and NDA Group
• Support cyber incident response arrangements in the NDA, liaising with government and UK Civil Nuclear Sector
• Support and implement assurance assessments of information security capabilities and their performance within NDA, NDA Group and the supply chain
• Provide assurance of cyber security in new and existing ICT systems
• Manage assurance of network and systems in the NDA and its supply chain through a formal risk management methodology

The role

The NDA is seeking to appoint category Managers who will be innovative, curious and resilient in working closely with and supporting multiple businesses in the group to solve complex and challenging problems. The category areas being appointed to are Capital Projects & Infrastructure, Manufactured Products & Waste Services and Property.

Working collaboratively across the wider NDA group, each postholder will use their stakeholder management skills, commercial and technical expertise to develop credible category strategies, gain buy-in from complex and diverse stakeholders to ultimately drive value for money for the taxpayer.

Key Accountabilities

• Maintains stakeholder relationships (Commercial, Finance and Technical and both internal and external to the NDA Group) to support the development of sub-category strategies and/or procurement strategies for the Group, in alignment with the NDA mission
• Validates and assures that the pipeline of projects specific to their sub-category are mapped and understood, governs prioritisation, compliance, risk and value for money
• Leads or assures on procurement activities performed within their sub-category; this may include the design, analysis, negotiation and evaluation of tenders or assurance/management of existing contracts.
• Ensures timely completion of procurement activities to maintain compliant continuity of supply whilst guiding the business on the correct routes to market and associated timing
• Take accountability for delivery against sub-category specific targets, including cost reduction, contract management, supplier performance, supply-base rationalisation and SME compliance
• Be regarded as a competent and professional commercial/sub-category subject matter expert, ensuring innovation, industry best-practice and continuous improvement across the function
