Welcome

Welcome

Dear Candidate,

Thank you for your interest in the Head of School role at New Bridge School. I’m certain that you will be able to find the information you require either on this site or on our school and trust website. If you do have any questions, either I or a member of our team would welcome the opportunity to have a discussion with you and that can be organised by contacting Martin Blair at Hays Leadership whose details you will find on this site.

We believe that New Bridge School and the wider New Bridge Multi Academy Trust are a truly remarkable place to work. Our vision statement ‘Creating Meaningful Futures’ captures our commitment to ensuring our educational offer consistently supports the meaningful destinations we achieve for each child. Our vision statement equally relates to our staff team in the knowledge that investing in their professional learning and enabling their continued development supports successful outcomes for our pupils.

The successful candidate will join a passionate and innovative team with a strong ‘can do’ attitude. Our mission statement ‘Learning together, learning for all, learning for life’ illustrates our inclusive approach that values contributions from every individual and sees learning (in both pupils and staff) as a driving force for improving the outcomes for our young people.

The role brings with it the opportunity to work in partnership with the other Heads of School within New Bridge School and an amazing Executive Leadership Team who share a single-minded ambition to be progressive and innovative in everything we do. From an individual perspective you will receive direct mentoring, support and advice from a National Leader of Education who works as an Executive Director within the Trust.

New Bridge School remains a very popular choice for our families. Our nationally recognised curriculum model, our unique 48-week provision and our amazing extra-curricular opportunities have meant the school is now well over commissioned numbers. There will be a need, as we move forward, to develop new ways of working with our mainstream colleagues. We’d love to hear your ideas.

We would be delighted for you to visit the school and that can be arranged through our recruitment advisor, Martin Blair at Hays Leadership (T: 07736791138, E: martin.blair@hays.com) who is also available for an informal conversation about the role or to discuss making an application.

I hope you will feel empowered to put an application together. I’d personally like to thank you for the time, energy and thought you will put into it. We really want to recruit a brilliant school leader - our children deserve nothing less.

I look forward to meeting you,

Gavin Lyons

New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust

The New Bridge Multi-Academy Trust caters for young people with an EHCP from the age of 4 to 19. The trust believes that all of its young people deserve the very best provision.

New Bridge School converted to a MAT in 2014 to enable the sponsorship of a new build school for children on the autistic continuum, Hollinwood Academy.

Spring Brook School successfully applied to join the Trust and in 2019 the Springboard Project was set up to deliver a more appropriate vocational offer for young people with SEND. The Trust then welcomed Hawthorns School and @EveryoneLearning Teaching School Alliance. As part of the wider group, there are also two Post-19 organisations, New Bridge Horizons, a social care provision for adults aged 19+ and Future Finders Employability College, that offers a 1-year supported internship course for those students looking to move into paid employment and independent volunteering opportunities.

The Trust is committed to providing the very best opportunities for its children and young people and its destination focused provision enables them to play a meaningful and fulfilling role within their local and wider community. The Trust has established some of the best employability pathways in the world, with over 11 years of experience in supporting students into the world of work. It is an Apple 1:1 Trust, the first in the UK, which means that every single one of the children and staff have their own iPad to enhance engagement, achievement and innovation.

The curriculum and philosophies provide the opportunities for academic and social development that will enhance the life opportunities for the young people as they move into the adult world.
