SLIDESHOW

Headteacher opportunity at
Kingsway Park High School

WELCOME

Welcome From The Chair of Governors

Dear Candidate,

Welcome to Kingsway Park High School. Ten years in the making and now ready for our next phase of development following the retirement of Deborah Ball who has been dedicated Headteacher since her arrival as head at the school’s foundation.

We are, according to OFSTED in 2017, a “good school” but this doesn’t reflect everything about the school. OFSTED said “we have the capacity to go on improving”, “pupils make good progress from low starting points” and “attendance is above average”. Some aspects, especially the care and support we offer our students are outstanding. Our commitment is to developing the ‘whole’ child.

To give some context I quote from a recently arrived Year 10 student, “thanks to you today I feel I can be worth something and thanks to you I am the student I am. You make each student feel important, valuable and above all capable of anything.” We welcome a number of International New Arrivals, who bring new ideas and great talent to the school. Our number on role is expanding and we have had a new annex added last year to cope with this. The present number is 1220 and growing. We have a curriculum which offers a breadth of subjects tailored to our students.

From the Trust and Governors, through to the teachers and support staff we have a dedicated team. As a recently arrived member of staff said to me “ I really like the school. It is a real community”. A mixture of youth and experience, who are prepared to go the extra mile.

So, what are we looking for?

  • Energy and vision
  • Dynamic and inspiring
  • An ability to find innovative ways to improve performance
  • Strengthening and building partnerships especially with the community
  • Developing our part with a possible MAT
  • Improving our partnership with parents
  • Bringing the best out of everyone
  • Someone who believes in and is well-informed about the borough in which we are situated with a passion for the unique nature of the school

If you are interested, come and visit. Talk to us and find out what we are about and what we want to be in the future. Contact Martin Blair at Hays Leadership on 07736791138 or at martin.blair@hays.com to arrange an appointment or have an informal conversation.

I look forward to hearing from you and thank you for your interest in Kingsway Park High School.

Chair of Governors and Trustee
