About BCH
In today’s world, fighting crime and protecting the public is a more complex challenge than ever. That means police forces require an ever changing set of skills and services, and the need to source the right talent and resources is critical.
Based on multiple sites and providing HR and Operational Learning Services to over 10,000 Police Officers and Police staff (and growing) across three Forces, the BCH HR team was formed in 2015 and continues to evolve in response to the changing nature of policing, growing demand and increasing complexity. The landscape around recruitment and attraction is particularly challenging and exciting both for BCH specifically and policing in general. The introduction of new police officer entry routes together with the national Police Uplift Programme is driving the need to think differently around how we attract and recruit people to policing. Policing also offers a wide range of police staff roles which are equally business critical and require a fresh approach to attraction and recruitment if we are to secure the right talent to help us meet current and future challenges. BCH offers a rich and varied experience for anyone seeking to further develop their career and to enjoy the satisfaction gained from delivering cohesive HR Services which are forward looking and support our officers and staff to provide policing services to our communities.
