Balton CP Ltd is a unique business that is split into two main divisions – Agriculture and Technology & Innovation. Agriculture forms the largest part of our operations where we get involved at ground level with large commercials farms as well as small scale farmers to providing them not only with farm inputs but the knowhow of how to apply them and get the best yield. In the T&I division, our strength lies in providing security and communication solutions to our customers across Africa.
We are currently implementing a new ERP system across the group to help us share more information between our entities and improve reporting and controls across the operations. We thrive in the diversity each entity brings and continuously learn from our past experiences and knowledge. This is what makes us different from others.
The role is an ideal opportunity for someone with internal audit skills to make a difference to the business by adding to the discipline and a structured approach to the control environment. Although this is a standalone role, maintaining regular contacts with the finance teams in the entities, the individual will be able to advice and guide them to follow best practice and implement changes.

Role: Internal Auditor
Salary: Up to £60,000 (DOE) plus benefits package

About the role
Hays Senior Finance is proud to be working in partnership with Balton CP who have always been at the forefront of Africa's ever-developing agriculture sector, introducing modern technologies such as drip irrigation, greenhouses and soluble fertilizers on the African continent.
With its executive and financial base in the UK as well as the procurement and logistics functions, Balton CP drives regional business development and growth through professionally managed subsidiaries established in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Ghana and Nigeria.
The Internal Auditor will report to the Group CFO where you will be a key member of their global team. You will be based in Watford but be willing and flexible to travel every 6 weeks to their subsidiaries. You will be responsible for reviewing and auditing internal control and procedures to ensure risk is adequately management and the controls and governance of each entity are effective.
The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills and be able to understand processes and work flows. Have at least 5 year’s experience as an Internal Auditor or Senior Auditor and have advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases.
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and to compile detailed reports. Proven knowledge of auditing standards and procedures, laws, rules and regulations. Have high attention to detail and excellent analytical skills and a degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent and good report writing, and communication skills is essential.
Above all you will have a strong degree of commercial acumen with the ability to influence and present at all levels and be able to demonstrate sound independent judgement.
You will be commercially aware and have the gravitas to win the respect and confidence of colleagues across the organisation.
