Senior Commissioning Manager, Learning Disability opportunity with Richmond and Wandsworth Council
Welcome
“I feel really empowered when I see something happening in my team. I have a lot of new staff that joined, coming together in this one shared approach. I’m beginning to see staff develop and flourish working in the different cultures across both the boroughs and I get as much from seeing my staff develop as I do seeing the people we support get what they need.“
Dear Colleague
SENIOR COMMISSIONING ROLES
I am delighted that you have shown an interest in key roles in our shared staffing arrangement across Richmond and Wandsworth Councils, and in our newly redesigned Commissioning Team. I hope you find the enclosed information useful and that it encourages you to apply at such an exciting time of development for us.
The Commissioning Team has collective responsibility to oversee strategic and large-scale commissioning and service contracts across both our Councils as well as leading market management and strategic relationships with our provider market. Our focus is enormously varied, overseeing areas of social care support to vulnerable people including people with a learning disability, older people or those who have mental health issues. However, we are also developing a much more focussed preventative and early support offer working with our voluntary sector partners; our NHS partners utilising our Better Care Fund and Public Health where we also commission substance misuse and sexual health services. Within our Commissioning and Quality Standards division our portfolio is extremely wide ranging and brings significant variety to our work.
This role will give an experienced practitioner/manager and aspiring leader the opportunity to take the Councils’ work forward in a core area where you will have key expertise. The London Boroughs of Richmond and Wandsworth are a great place to work, offering variety, diversity and easy access to central London. By working in the shared service, you will experience both inner and out London issues first hand, using your experience to shape the services we need for the future. Furthermore, you will be part of the largest local authority staffing group in the Capital.
If you would like to discuss the role informally and in confidence, then please do not hesitate to contact Katarzyna Prosniak at Hays Social Care our recruitment provider for more information. Her number is 020 7259 8715 or email Katarzyna.Prosniak@hays.com
I hope by reading this you will be encouraged to apply, and I look forward to receiving your application.
Yours sincerely,
Derek Oliver
